Help the shelter "Ananda" (we collect funds for food for our tails)
Our shelter contains about 2,000 dogs saved from euthanasia. The shelter is not funded by the region. We ask for help with food for our charges
Dear friends!
Our shelter is currently home to around 2,000 dogs who have escaped a terrible fate — euthanasia. Unfortunately, our shelter receives no support from the region, and we are in desperate need of your help.
Thanks to our previous campaign and your support, we were able to survive the harsh winter in Buryatia. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us in those difficult times! But food is a constant need — every month, every day we must feed our furry friends.
Many of you have likely heard about the dire situation of stray dogs in the Republic of Buryatia. On November 16, 2023, the Khural passed a law on the “Euthanasia of Unattended Animals.” According to this law, dogs caught by animal control were to be held for only 30 days, after which they would be given a lethal injection...

The tragedy began even earlier — in August 2023, when the "Ananda" shelter in Ulan-Ude, one of the largest in Russia, lost municipal funding. The captured dogs were on the brink of starvation, having no chance to survive.
But thanks to the efforts of volunteers and charitable donations, the dogs survived!
Then came another blow — the law on euthanasia. Now, dogs that had already endured hunger and cold faced death by injection...
In January 2024, former Ananda shelter volunteer and now its director, Nargiza Muminova, made a bold and decisive move — she officially took responsibility for 1,537 unwanted municipal dogs that were due for euthanasia, saving them quite literally from the brink of death.

Since February 2024, the Ananda shelter has rescued around 500 more dogs, including puppies, from inevitable death at temporary holding facilities.
Sadly, many dogs are still at risk of euthanasia. Just recently, in March 2025, we managed to save another 108 tails from death.
But we are not giving up! Since January 2024, a lot of work has been done at the shelter: staff and veterinarians have been hired, the heating system in the vet block was repaired, warm areas were built in the hangar for the smallest and short-haired dogs so they wouldn’t freeze in the harsh cold, new warm doghouses are being installed regularly, documentation is being updated, and dogs are being adopted by families across the country.
We provide daily care, conduct vaccinations, treat the sick, and protect them from parasites.

Unfortunately, our financial situation is far from stable. The funds for maintaining the dogs are rapidly decreasing, and sometimes we barely have enough for the most essential need — food. Right now, we are asking for the most vital support — food for our animals. A warm, tasty porridge keeps them alive and fills them with hope and trust in people.
Please, support us! Your contribution will help make this world a bit kinder and more just. Share your warmth with our beloved animals!

How else can you help the "Ananda" shelter?
Financial support: Make a donation to the shelter’s account. This is the most direct way to help, especially considering the urgent and ongoing need for food and care. Even the smallest amount means a lot to us.
You can also choose a dog and become its financial guardian by donating 1,500 euro per month for its care. Photo albums of the dogs currently without sponsors can be found in our VK group. More information about the shelter is available in our curator chat on Telegram, on our VK page, Yandex Zen, and YouTube channel.
You can also order a gift for our furry friends through marketplaces like Ozon or Wildberries. We are constantly in need of food, cleaning supplies, and other essentials. Please let us know in advance about your gift by contacting the shelter director via our Telegram channel or VK group.
Volunteering: If you live nearby, you can become a volunteer and help care for the dogs or assist with shelter maintenance and repairs.
We also desperately need help promoting the shelter on social media and spreading awareness. Every subscriber, every like, every comment on our groups matters greatly to us.
Share information about the shelter on your social media, tell your friends and family. The more people know about us, the greater the chance we have of receiving support.
Adopting an animal: If you have the opportunity, consider adopting a dog from the shelter. This not only gives a dog a loving home but also frees up space for new arrivals.
Join our Ananda family!
Many thanks to everyone who responded to our collection! We want to share with you news from the shelter. Our life consists of many small, but very important things.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our collection - we have crossed the important mark of 25% of the amount we needed!
Thanks to your concern and kindness, our collection has reached an important milestone - it has covered half the distance to its goal!
