Game Finance and Investments for children. 2nd edition

Hello!

My name is Konstantin Vladimirov. I’m an entrepreneur and game practitioner. Today, I earn my living and travel the world solely by developing and publishing board games. You can read more about me below, but for now, let me tell you the backstory of this project.

One day, some friends visited me with their kids, ages 4 and 6. And here’s the trouble! I didn’t have a game at home that could engage both adults and kids. That’s when I thought: maybe I need a new game? Something simple and fun that the whole family can play together.

That’s how the game “Finance and Investment for Kids” was born! The first edition was released just before New Year’s at the turn of 2020–2021 and quickly sold out — we raised 660,000 euro here on Planeta.ru and even received the “Planeta Supports” badge. But the requests for the game keep coming! So we decided to launch the Second Edition.

PROJECT GOAL AND MISSION

Main goal: to produce at least 100 additional copies of this genuinely useful and exciting economic game for kids and teens. To create a children’s business simulator.

Mission: to teach kids how to manage their money wisely through gameplay. To show the importance of investing and saving throughout life.

Age: suitable for kids and teens aged 6+

Through our game, kids will become familiar with economic terms such as:

• Investments and assets

• Pension and capital

• Real estate

• Banks and financing

• Charity

• Savings

Our game teaches how to manage finances, save, invest, and protect capital during crises. It also fosters an understanding of the value of saving and builds mental arithmetic skills.

ABOUT THE GAME

“Finance and Investment for Kids” is an economic board game with a game board and cards. Players take turns using a simple roll-and-move mechanic. They manage their personal finances, choose investment opportunities, build pension plans, and try to enter the world of the rich.

Here’s what the game board looks like:

Players can buy businesses, trade real estate, invest in the stock market, make bank deposits, and even participate in crowdfunding!

Special focus is given to pension programs. To level up, players need to save more and more. This helps kids and teens develop the habit not just to earn, but also to save.

All GAME RULES are printed directly on the game board! Just play and follow the rules.

The cards include all types of assets: real estate, businesses, and bank tools.

And our banknotes feature portraits of the world’s most famous investors and entrepreneurs! Can you recognize them?

WHAT CAN YOU DO IN THE GAME?

1) Buy businesses and real estate

2) Save money in bank deposits

3) Build up savings for a comfortable retirement

4) Climb the income ladder to reach the wealth level

5) Complete 5 quests at the wealth level to win!

THE GAME SET INCLUDES:

WHERE WILL THE FUNDS GO?

The first print run included 500 copies and was sold out instantly. Now we plan to release a second print run of “Finance and Investment for Kids” for those who missed it, aiming to produce at least 100 additional copies.

The game design and illustrations are already completed — the board, banknotes, and cards are ready for printing. Printing costs average 130,000 euro per 100 game boxes. Up to 15% of the collected funds may be lost due to transaction fees. At least 30,000 euro will be spent on logistics and presentations in Moscow and other cities once the project is successfully completed. There, you’ll be able to play the new game and get your copy signed.

STRETCH GOALS

If our campaign reaches the initial goal of 200,000 euro to print 100 new copies, we will donate 10% of the games (10 boxes) to universities and schools, just as we did in the first campaign:

• If we raise more than 300,000 euro , we will print at least 200 copies of the game and donate 25 sets to schools and universities for free.

• If we raise over 500,000 euro , we will print at least 400 copies (maybe even more!). We’ll donate 50 copies to educational institutions and hold at least 10 open game sessions with free admission for all.

• And if — by some miracle — we manage to raise as much as 1,000,000 euro , we will print 500 copies of the game and develop an online version of “Finance and Investment for Kids.”
