Inclusive Cafe "Different Grains"
An inclusive café in Moscow where adults with autism will work alongside professional chefs and waiters.
Friends!
For 9 years now, at the School of Professions, we’ve been organizing career exploration programs, bread baking workshops, and communication groups for children and young people with mental developmental disabilities.

In our inclusive classes at the School of Professions, we’ve held hundreds of programs that introduce children and teens to different careers and develop their soft skills and life competencies. The most popular activities have been baking bread, cheese making, healthy candy crafting, making ice cream, and preparing fir tree cocktails.

As it turns out, our career guidance meetings slowly bring young people with disabilities closer to real employment. Many people with mental disabilities need adapted working conditions: shortened work hours, job coaching, supportive teams, and sensory-friendly spaces.
An inclusive café will be the solution — a place where people with intellectual and mental differences can work alongside chefs, baristas, administrators, and couriers. In one year, 12 young people with autism spectrum disorders and other mental conditions will be able to do internships in our café.
Inclusive café “Different Grains” in the center of Moscow. Here, we serve healthy, fresh food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features seasonal vegetable dishes, gluten- and sugar-free pastries, fruit teas, and specialty coffee. For children and teens, we’ll run an inclusive culinary school, art classes, performances, inclusive walking tours around the historical district, a teen club, film screenings, exhibitions, music evenings, and friendly meetups for everyone.
We are raising 1,250,000 euro for repairs and rent of the café premises. We are also looking for partners who can provide kitchen equipment, bakery gear, and building materials for the renovation.
Many people with mental disabilities can and want to work. But most often, people with autism spectrum disorders cannot even find the simplest job. Our young people speak loudly about how important it is for them to work and contribute meaningfully.
Why do people with disabilities need a job if they receive a pension from the state?
Today, our project has a wonderful lot - a pie from Yulia, the founder of the cafe "Raznye Zerna"
A month ago, we completed the collection for the opening of “Grains” and plunged headlong into work.
Today, December 4, from 12 to 20, the Café "Raznye Zerna" will operate in the format of a mobile catering service
We have great news.
